Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Olympique de Marseille on Penalties to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

The Parisian club has now claimed the prestigious cup on 14 different occasions.

The Parisian giants needed a dramatic leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in Kuwait and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward win in the match between the French league winners and the French Cup holders after the French winger found the scoring in the opening stages.

However, Marseille struck twice late to seize a surprise lead. First, the English forward converted from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker grabbed a crucial leveler in the final seconds to send the match into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, stopping crucial attempts from Matt O'Riley and Hamed Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and Desire Doue all scored with composure for PSG to complete a convincing shootout win.

Now 14-time champions PSG, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now lifted this competition for the twelfth time in the last thirteen years.
