Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Power In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes follow nights of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

He said utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
